Tottenham Hotspur Women (THW) is entering the next phase of its growth. Founded in 1985, promoted to the Barclays Women's Super League in 2019, and training full-time at Hotspur Way since 2020, the programme has continued to professionalise at pace. With continued investment on the pitch and a clear ambition to become One Club, Two Teams, the Club believes the Women's game represents one of the most significant growth opportunities in modern sport. This is a rare opportunity to shape the commercial future of a leading WSL club building a sustainable, high-performance growth model that translates sporting ambition into measurable commercial impact. We are seeking a senior commercial leader to own and deliver that ambition.
We offer world-class facilities: In 2019, we opened our state-of-the-art Stadium, a £1 billion landmark that’s the beating heart of North Tottenham’s transformation. More than just a football ground, it’s an engine of change — creating 4,000 jobs and injecting £300 million into the local economy every year. We’re at our brightest when we’re all together. Our Club, our teams, our community. There is only one Hotspur.
Role Purpose: As Women’s Growth Director, you will be the single accountable leader for Tottenham Hotspur Women’s commercial performance. You will define and deliver a multi-year growth strategy covering revenue, audience expansion, matchday performance and brand development with clear annual targets and measurable outcomes. This is an executive-level, hands-on leadership role. You will shape the commercial blueprint, mobilise cross-functional teams, and drive delivery at pace. You will operate within a centralised commercial structure while retaining full accountability for Women’s outcomes. You will work closely with Women’s Football leadership to align sporting ambition with commercial priorities ensuring on-pitch momentum is translated into sustained off-pitch growth. Performance in the role will be measured against defined revenue, attendance, engagement and partnership objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Accountability: Define and deliver a multi-year commercial and audience growth strategy for THW, with clear annual revenue and demand targets. Establish a disciplined operating rhythm across planning, performance tracking and executive reporting. Own Women’s commercial performance as the single accountable executive. Champion THW internally, securing appropriate executive focus, resource allocation and governance to deliver growth. Drive acquisition, engagement and retention strategy in partnership with Commercial Marketing, CRM, Content and Comms teams. Strengthen the full supporter journey from awareness to purchase to repeat attendance using data, insight and conversion optimisation. Build a consistent supporter listening framework to inform commercial decisions. Ensure Women’s storytelling and positioning are coherent within Club brand guardrails and aligned to the One Club ambition. Deliver measurable improvements in attendance growth, repeat rates and fan lifetime value.
- Matchday & Venue Commercial Performance: Lead the matchday growth and yield strategy collaborating on pricing, on-sale strategy, inventory optimisation and fan experience. Support and help maximise commercial return per fixture while strengthening long-term supporter value. Develop and execute the Women’s venue strategy across Brisbane Road and selected Tottenham Hotspur Stadium fixtures to optimise growth, atmosphere and commercial impact. Partner with Ticketing, Venue, F&B and Premium teams to ensure matchday delivery meets both performance and brand standards.
- Women-Centric Partnerships: Shape a compelling THW commercial narrative and proposition in collaboration with the central Partnerships and Commercial Planning teams. Support the acquisition of new partners aligned to the Women’s growth story. Support the central partnerships team to deliver activation excellence and strong renewal performance, protecting brand trust and long-term commercial value. Lead and support the dedicated THW commercial team (direct and matrixed), setting clear accountabilities and high-performance standards. Formalise capacity and delivery agreements with shared specialist teams (brand, CRM, analytics, retail, legal, finance). Operate comfortably in a matrixed structure driving outcomes without always having direct control. Create a culture defined by pace, ownership, accountability and development.
Person Specification
- A senior commercial leader with a proven track record of delivering sustained revenue and demand growth in women led sport, entertainment, media or consumer brands.
- Demonstrable experience building and scaling a commercial proposition from early stage to sustainable growth.
- Experience operating at senior level, influencing senior stakeholders and securing cross-functional alignment.
- A strong cross-functional operator who drives delivery across shared teams and complex environments.
- An experienced people leader who sets high standards and builds durable performance cultures.
How you work: Take full ownership of outcomes comfortable with accountability and visibility. Combine strategic clarity with hands‐on execution. Operate with pace, commercial discipline and data‐led decision making. Comfortable with ambiguity and building where structures are still evolving. Anchor decisions in what genuinely grows supporter connection and long‐term demand.
