We’re currently recruiting a full-time Permit/Health & Safety Manager within our Stadium Operations team. This is a hands-on role, supporting the overall Health & Safety objectives, under the management of the Head of Occupational Health and Safety.
About You
- Responsible for the administration, coordination, planning and management of the stadiums permit to work system.
- Review permit to work applications ensuring sufficient RAMS, competencies, accreditations, and insurances are available and fit for purpose.
- Closely monitor the C&E and major bowl event calendar ensuring that PTW does not impact on the operation of the Stadium.
- Ensure site inductions are undertaken and understood before allowing sub-contractors to commence work.
- Undertake prestart checks ensuring RAMS remain suitable and sufficient and issue permit at place of work.
- Ensure adequate monitor of works through to completion, checking control measures within RAMS are being followed.
- Sign off work & permit at place of work, ensuring post checks (i.e. fire watch) have been completed and isolations reinstated.
- Support with the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Method Statements/ Risk Assessments (RAMS) across all internal department, high risk/ operational activities.
- Ensure H&S policies & procedures are followed by THFC employees, service partners, 3rd party clients, tenants, agents, and sub-contractors.
- Produce monthly reports to Line Manager on key deliverables and statistics.
- Undertake regular quality audit of H&S/ PTW systems and documentation and support with periodic audits by internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to; Local authority, SGSA, Governing bodies, Insurance providers.
- Assist with investigations of near misses, accidents, and incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and learning outcomes are identified and control measures implemented.
- Ensure legal, insurers and loss adjusters are provided with relevant documentation and information to prevent business loss within the specified timeframes.
- Support emergency planning and response protocols.
- Support with other H&S related duties deemed reasonable by line manager (i.e. Health & Safety training, Toolbox talks, slip testing, fire and first aid equipment inspections, DSE assessments).
What you will bring
- Expert knowledge of QHSE regulations and compliance with ISO 45001.
- Previous responsibility in managing policies and systems such as H&S, QA, CAFM & environmental while complying with current and appropriate legislation and standards.
- Management experience in dealing with service partners, sub-contractors, and supply chain.
- Able to co-ordinate and manage multiple projects end-to-end across multi-site facilities.
- Proven track record in the development of positive contractor relations and communications.

Skills & Experience
- Recognised Health & Safety qualification – NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Broad understanding of construction Health & Safety law and legislation.
- IT literate in MS Office and systems management software.
- Good knowledge of fire safety systems.
- Experience of managing a permit to work system and auditing contractors.
- Experience of dealing with critical incidents (Engineering, Structure, utilities).
- Ability to write technical reports.
- Ability to lead specific audits, inspections and track corrective actions.
