Founded in 1882, Tottenham Hotspur is an iconic English football club competing at the highest level of the men’s and women’s game. From North London to the world, our fanbase spans continents, cultures and generations. We are a Club built on belief, bravery and progress, always daring to push boundaries and rewrite what is possible. In 2019, we opened our world class Stadium, a £1bn landmark at the heart of North Tottenham’s regeneration. More than a football ground, it is a global stage for sport, culture and community, creating thousands of jobs and delivering significant social and economic impact.
We are at our best when we move as one Club: our teams, our people, our supporters, our partners and our community, together. There is only one Hotspur. Tottenham Hotspur.
The Role
We are seeking a senior communications leader to drive campaign strategy, partner communications and planning discipline across the Club. This is a newly created leadership role, designed to strengthen how the Club brings together brand, commercial and communications activity. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Communications Officer, and Brand Marketing and Commercial teams to shape the scope, priorities and operating model of the role as the function evolves.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role combining strategic thinking, consumer instinct and cross functional influence, with the opportunity to help shape how the Club structures and delivers integrated communications campaigns in the future.
Key Responsibilities

- Ensure commercial narratives are authentic, culturally relevant and aligned to Club positioning
- Integrate partner campaigns within the wider communications calendar

- Lead campaign architecture from insight through execution and evaluation
- Introduce consistent briefing, prioritisation and measurement standards
- Strengthen cross functional planning between Communications, Marketing and Commercial teams
- Ensure clarity of audience, message hierarchy and channel strategy across major initiatives
Brand Marketing Integration
- Serve as the primary communications partner to the Brand Marketing team
- Shape communications strategies for major consumer campaigns including season launches, kit releases, player milestones and cultural platforms
- Ensure owned, earned and partner channels amplify marketing impact cohesively
- Champion a clear consumer perspective across all communications activity
- Work with internal teams to translate the Club’s purpose into tangible off pitch narratives
- Ensure community, commercial and brand initiatives reinforce a consistent identity
- Balance commercial objectives with supporter credibility
Functional Leadership
- Act as a senior leader within the Communications function
- Partner closely with the Head of Football Communications and Corporate Communications to ensure strategic alignment
- Raise strategic standards across the team and mentor emerging talent
- Contribute to long term communications strategy alongside other Comms leaders
Insight and Measurement
- Drive a measurement focused culture, establishing clear success metrics across reputation, reach, sentiment and cultural impact
- Use audience, cultural and reputational insight to inform decisions and continuous improvement
