Role Purpose
We’re currently recruiting an U16 Head Coach within our Professional Girls Academy to help us take things to the next level.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation and delivery of sessions to PGA U16s age group
- Be responsible and present for all match day preparation and performance for the U16’s
- Allocate time in schedule to be present at U14’s training and games to support and work closely with PGA U14’s staff to enhance the player pathway
- Conduct and compile three ‘Individual Development Plans’ each season for players within the U16 cohort, as well as mid and end of season reviews with player and parents
- Work closely with Technical Coaching Manager, Medical, Sports Science, Analysis, Education, Player Care/Safeguarding, Operations and Kit staff regarding the players’ holistic programme and needs
- Embody the Academy Philosophy and Game Methodology applying them to all aspects of interactions with Academy Stakeholders (players, parents, wider MDT and First Team)
- Maintain mandatory CPD record, including Club issue DBS check, UEFA Licence (15 hours of the appropriate level CPD every three years), FA Safeguarding Children Workshop (every three years), relevant FA Emergency First Aid qualification as per Premier League rules (currently EFAiF – every three years)
- Ensure U16 group’s data entry (both for training sessions and matches) is accurate and up-to-date via the Kitman Labs platform
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Act in accordance with the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Be alert to signs of abuse, neglect, or safeguarding concerns and report these appropriately
- Maintain professional boundaries and act as a positive role model when working with or around children
- Attend safeguarding training as required and keep knowledge up to date

- Flexibility and availability throughout the working week to complete roles and responsibilities
- Be authentic and work with integrity
- Display good, consistent organisational and personal management skills
- Proficient IT skills (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Hudl)
- Outstanding communication skills with players, staff, parents and stakeholders
- Effective time management and be able to deal to work to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- An experience of coordinating and planning schedules
- An experience of working with children and furthermore in a player development world.
- Must hold a minimum of UEFA B, FA DBS, FA Safeguarding Children Course, FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid. (Head Coach will ideally hold a UEFA A license or should be working towards)
