The Role

Tottenham Hotspur is seeking a dynamic, analytical and creative Strategy Analyst to join the Club’s Strategy & Business Analytics department (currently formed of 7 people of different seniority and experience). The Strategy team is responsible for ensuring the effective development, prioritisation and execution of the Club’s strategic priorities. This would include working with relevant departments to help them set long‑term objectives and a roadmap to reach them, managing the sometimes competing priorities of different departments at the Club and supporting them in the day‑to‑day project management of their work.

Key projects the Strategy Analyst is expected to work on include, but are not limited to:

  • Growing the domestic and international fanbase of the club
  • Supporting the growth of Women’s football both on‑ and off‑the‑pitch
  • Developing market‑specific strategies for the Club’s key international geographies
  • Conducting financial benchmarking exercises of our competitors in order to provide key information for our Board

The Strategy Analyst will work in a challenging and fast‑paced environment, with their work informing the key decisions of the Executive Leadership team. There will be abundant learning and growth opportunities and one of the key objectives of the Senior Strategy Manager will be to help develop them and express their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting key stakeholders with development, documentation and implementation of prioritised plans to deliver against centrally determined strategic priorities and assisting in associated decision‑making
  • Assisting Senior Strategy Manager with the creation of long‑term strategic plans for key business areas
  • Generating and exploring new ideas and initiatives for the Club and making clear recommendations to leadership
  • Undertaking, supporting and, in time, leading ad hoc projects associated with the support and execution of new and existing strategic priorities, including facilitating analysis‑based decision making
  • Acting as an advocate for cross‑functional ways of working, creation of structured plans and measurement of progress
  • Aiding analysis‑based decision making through the production of detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis communicated through high quality written materials
  • Challenging ideas and using data to validate status‑quo ways of working and proposed alternatives throughout strategic projects

Required Qualifications

  • A 2:1 or equivalent from University
  • Experience of working in strategy consultancy, accounting firm, investment banking or in‑house strategy function

Skills & Experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office solutions (incl. PowerPoint and Excel) and with generative AI tools
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and effectively summarise key findings to a variety of stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Proficient with financial statements and experience of financial modelling
  • Experience of supporting with Project Management tasks on projects with multiple cross‑departmental workstreams
  • Experience of presenting to and working with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes
  • Ability to effectively and independently plan, execute and complete detailed problem‑solving exercises leading to clear recommendations
  • Most importantly: a hunger to learn, a strong work‑ethic and integrity, an ability to think outside the box and a desire to leave a lasting mark on Tottenham Hotspur
