Job Purpose

  • Implement elite-level analysis of team and player performance, under the guidance of the Head of Analysis.
  • Create and deliver video and data content to First Team players and staff, in line with the Club’s philosophy and game model.
  • As part of a team, meet all analysis needs of the First team for training, pre-match, live and post-match workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the analysis team to deliver a best-in-class service to First Team players and staff, in accordance with training and match schedules.
  • Profile upcoming opponents to create an opposition dossier, delivered to First Team coaching staff.
  • Resource, edit and telestrate videos which analyse opponent behaviours across phases at a global and individual level.
  • Present compelling opposition analysis to First Team Coaches which inform the creation and delivery of match strategies.
  • Create and maintain databases to analyse trends within matchday cycles, in consideration of the next opponent and aligned to the Club’s game model.
  • Assist in the management and capture of all training footage, including use of IP cameras and drone.
  • Attend home and away match days, as required, to set up technical matchday workflows and assist the delivery of real-time insights.
  • Conduct research of Premier League, European competitions and broader football landscape to expand a comprehensive knowledge base and inform insights.
  • Embrace and learn new technologies to maintain the highest standards of analysis and push the boundaries of methodology.
  • Help to manage all First Team Analysis working spaces, ensuring reliability of all hardware and software.
  • Attend Performance Analysis department meetings and in-service events when required.

  • Experience working within an elite football environment.
  • Competency operating relevant technologies (Hudl & Catapult) and data sets (Statsbomb & Second Spectrum).
  • Experience creating data visualisations and video telestration.
  • Excellent written and creative presentation skills.
  • Proficient using both Mac and Windows.
  • Related Sports Science, Analysis or Coaching degree.
