About The Role
Registered Manager Children’s Home – a full‑time position based in Preston, Chorley.
You will lead a solo home for children with learning and physical disability, creating a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that meets the highest standards of care.
Location: Preston, Chorley Salary: £40,000.00 - £50,000.00
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain high‑level quality assurance processes and comply with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Participate in all matters relating to placement referrals, including reviewing information and arranging visits to the child’s home, placement, and school.
- Ensure a strong safeguarding culture and safe environment for children and staff.
- Operate in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, and meet the standards set by its Statement of Purpose.
- Complete child‑centred records and management documentation within required timescales, emphasizing quality reporting and care planning.
- Promote a trauma‑informed, therapeutic care approach underpinned by PACE principles.
- Use stakeholder feedback to inform quality assurance, prioritising the voice of the child.
- Conduct regular supervision, appraisals, and team meetings to foster professional development.
- Lead manager audits, Regulation 44 quality reviews and visits.
- Manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability while maintaining high care standards.
- Participate in senior out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and regular on‑call duty as required.
Skills and Experience Required
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management or senior role within a children’s residential home.
- Experience working with people with complex physical, emotional, and learning needs.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good quality writing and IT skills.
- Professional manner and effective communication with external agencies.
