Our client designs and manufactures high-quality, bespoke machinery for UK and International customers across various industries. They are seeking a Project Engineer who likes to take responsibility for controlling challenging projects for key customers. The project engineer will ensure equipment is manufactured in accordance with customer and international design codes to the highest quality, for various types of heat transfer and high-pressure equipment, from order stage through to completion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Control engineering projects from order placement to data dossier submission
- Interpret customer design requirements from data sheets, drawings and specifications
- Attend meetings with customers to discuss technical and commercial clarifications
- Generate and monitor project plans using Microsoft project
- Check detailed fabrication drawings and calculations
- Produce quality control documentation
- Source materials and organise sub-contractor services
- Monitor project costs and ensure any variations are calculated, recorded and agreed with the customer
- Assist with transport or shipping of project equipment
- Liaise with customers, inspectors and third party personnel on and off site
Requirements:
Essential:
- Degree Qualification in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of managing similar projects
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- A competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak confidently to suppliers and customers
- Well organised and be able to plan and prioritise tasks to meet challenging deadlines
Desirable:
- Knowledge of ASME, PD5500 or EN 12952 design codes
- Experience with welding, machining or manufacturing of pressure retaining equipment
- Ability to use Solidworks and / or AutoCAD software
