Due to continued growth, our Client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Health & Safety Officer to join the team and support the existing Health & Safety Manager. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career within the construction and engineering industry. The successful candidate will receive structured mentoring, industry-specific training, and practical site experience to develop into a competent Health & Safety professional. There will be opportunity for progression within the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist with site inspections, audits, and safety checks
- Support the implementation of company health and safety procedures
- Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions
- Support site teams with health and safety compliance requirements
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across projects and operational teams
Candidate Requirements
- Interest in developing a career in Health & Safety within construction, engineering, or utilities
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Confident using Microsoft Office packages
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirables
- Willingness to work towards NEBOSH General Certificate
- Previous experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, utilities, or a site-based environment
