We are looking for a Public Engagement Officer to support the delivery of our public engagement work – you could be working on projects like Blossom, Hoppers and Sycamore Gap.

What it’s like to work here:

You’ll join a welcoming, collaborative public engagement team that’s motivated by purpose and excited about creating meaningful experiences for audiences. We work across events, cultural programmes and campaigns, combining creative thinking with strong operational delivery to bring ideas to life. Your contractual location will be our Head Office in Swindon. However, there is flexibility on where you are based. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll support the planning and delivery of exciting public engagement activity, including events, cultural programming and audience-facing campaigns. You’ll coordinate activity across partners, suppliers and internal teams, helping to keep projects organised, well communicated and running smoothly from planning through to delivery. You’ll bring strong organisational and communication skills, with an understanding of how public engagement supports audience reach and growth. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across creative ideas and practical delivery, and who wants to help create high-quality experiences with real public impact.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge or experience of event management, cultural programming, or brand experience.
  • Understanding of audience engagement, specifically how public engagement supports audience reach, growth, and activation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders; both written and verbal stakeholder communication is essential.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Experience coordinating multi-faceted campaigns or interventions, public engagement initiatives span partners, providers, data, and communications.
