About Us
Epping Forest stretches from London’s East End for 14 miles out into Essex and covers over 6000 acres along with a further 2000 acres of ‘buffer land’ and receives around 11 million visits each year. Two thirds of the Forest isdesignatedas Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and is home to over 50,000 veteran trees, over 100 ponds and lakes, two registered parks, 4 ancient monuments, and 8 listed buildings.
The role
As part of the senior leadership team at Epping Forest, and reporting to the Superintendent, you will lead a team of support services officers who deliver frontline customer support and provide wider administrative support across the Epping Forest team. You will lead improvements to business management systems and use data analysis to inform the charity’s annual report, as well as other reports and communications. You will also drive improved administrative efficiency across teams and support colleagues to embed the charity’s new financial reporting systems into their budgeting processes. While formal financial qualifications are notrequired, you will need an entrepreneurial approach, a focus on efficiency and an understanding of whole-life budgeting, helping the charitydemonstratebest value across all its operations. You will also manage the office and support the hosting of professional visits.
Our ideal Candidate
Has experience in business management and associated IT systems.
- Has good financial acumen.
- Has experience of managing a small team.
- Hasexperience in frontline visitor service and prioritises customer service excellence.
- Has experience of compiling reports and presenting data in an engaging way for public audiences.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skillsand is IT literate withexperience of standard Microsoft packages and database use.
- Ideally has a background working for a charity or public sector with some knowledge of fundraising and charity accounting.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
