Job Description

Start your career in technology and earn your degree in BSc Software Development on this four year program. You will learn in a hands‑on environment what it\’s like to be part of a team working with and developing new cutting edge technologies.

As a Software Development Apprentice in Glasgow, you will acquire underpinning knowledge and understanding of software development via a blended online learning and on‑campus delivery mode with core IT competencies being developed through an integrated work based learning curriculum. The on‑campus delivery will allow you to hone your programming and software engineering skills with support from experienced academics and professionals.

We offer an environment of support and personal investment where you’re given the opportunity to develop your career alongside your personal and technical skills.

Job responsibilities

  • Working on enhancements and upgrades to existing software and developing new applications as part of an agile team.
  • Reviewing code and testing applications.
  • Participating in team projects, making a contribution to our business while applying the knowledge that you’re learning in the classroom.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Meeting the eligibility criteria for Apprenticeship Levy Funding.
  • A minimum of BBBB grades (or equivalent), including Maths or Computer Science or Physics, at Scottish Higher level (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • A continuous learning mindset.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Passion for technology within financial services and a drive to learn new skills.

Please make sure to include your achieved or predicted Scottish Higher Level results (or equivalent) at the top of your CV as otherwise your application will not be screened.

We will be filling our classes on a rolling basis. We strongly encourage you to submit your application as early as possible before job postings close.

What\’s Next?

To begin the application process, you will be asked to enter your email address. This email will be used to create and maintain your profile, so please ensure it is one you will have long‑term access to.

Once you have submitted your application, we will review it to assess your eligibility. If you advance to the next stage, you will receive an email invitation to participate in an online Super Day. The online Super Day will happen within last two weeks of October or at the beginning of November.

If successful after Assessment Centre the final recruitment step is an in‑person Assessment Evening. The in‑person Assessment Evening will happen within last two weeks of November or at the beginning of December.

Please be aware that due to the high volume of applications, the recruitment process may take several months. We will keep you informed of your application status as decisions are made.
