At Totalmobile, we believe in using technology to transform how mobile workforces operate. Our platform supports over 1,000 organisations and 500,000 workers, helping them deliver critical services more efficiently and effectively. With a growing team of 400+ employees across the UK and Ireland, we’re continuing to evolve our product suite and invest in the future of data, analytics, and AI.
Over the past year, we’ve modernised our data platform, moving to a scalable, cloud-first architecture built on Azure technologies. This has created a strong foundation for delivering impactful analytics across our products, and we’re now focused on the next phase: embedding intelligent, AI-driven capabilities into real-world, customer-facing solutions.
The Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Data & AI team, with a clear focus on delivery, structure, and impact. This is a leadership role first and foremost. You’ll be responsible for guiding a cross-functional team of engineers and data specialists, ensuring that work is prioritised effectively, delivered to completion, and aligned to product goals. You’ll bring clarity to a fast-moving environment, creating the right balance between innovation and execution while helping the team consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.
You’ll work closely with Product and other engineering teams, contributing to how solutions are built rather than what gets built. Success in this role comes from enabling your team to perform at their best, removing blockers, improving ways of working, and ensuring progress is visible across the business.
The focus for the successful candidate will be on applying data and AI capabilities within a SaaS product environment—turning ideas into tangible features that deliver value to customers. You’ll need to be comfortable operating within the structure of a product-led organisation, where collaboration, prioritisation, and delivery discipline are key.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a strong, people-focused, and delivery-focused engineering manager who can bring structure, accountability, and momentum to a team. You’ll have proven experience leading engineering teams within a SaaS or product-led environment, with a track record of delivering projects through to completion. You’re comfortable managing performance, running team processes, and working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment and progress.
You’ll bring a solid understanding of data, analytics, and AI concepts, with experience applying these within real-world products. You don’t need to be a deep technical specialist or researcher, but you do need enough knowledge to engage with the team, ask the right questions, and guide technical direction at a high level.
Experience working in fast-paced, evolving environments is important. You’ll be someone who can operate effectively amidst ambiguity, bring structure where needed, and focus the team on what matters most. Strong communication skills, a pragmatic mindset, and a bias toward action are essential. Above all, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership, drives outcomes, and helps teams deliver meaningful results.
At Totalmobile, we want all of our employees to feel valued, appreciated, and free to be who they are at work. We are committed to an inclusive workforce that fully represents many different cultures, backgrounds and viewpoints. We are dedicated to supporting inclusion and diversity at Totalmobile. We actively celebrate colleagues’ different abilities, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith, and gender. Everyone is welcome and supported in their development at all stages in their journey with us.
