Salary: £28,598 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday (06:30 - 14:24) - Plus a requirement to work up to 4x weeks on nights as required.

At Totally Local Company, an opportunity has arisen for a Gully Driver who possesses a professional demeanour, sound judgement and integrity to join our Streetcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the programmed emptying and cleaning of highway gullies.
- Clearance and jetting of blocked gullies and drains on the highway and for private and commercial organisations when instructed by management.
- Use various equipment and tools to clear blocked gullies.
- Operate any in-cab technology in relation to reporting data on gully operations.
- Receive work instructions from either the Streetcare Supervisor or Assistant Group Manager.
- Identify and understand the task to be undertaken.
- Carry out the task in a safe and effective manner, with regard to Health & Safety and other relevant legislation.
- Use all equipment and machinery effectively, efficiently and in accordance with safe working practices.
- Drive and operate company or hired vehicles and plant, including LGVs, tippers, large and small mechanical sweepers, ride-on mowers, tractors, small mechanical diggers, platform vehicles, chipping machines, etc.
- Be responsible for daily vehicle checks and adjustments, brush maintenance, routine cleaning and defect reporting.
- Use all materials in accordance with safe working practices, including manual handling and the COSHH regulations.
- Keep all materials, plant, equipment and vehicles secure from theft and damage.
- Complete the works required within the given timescales.
- Report any faults with plant, equipment or machinery to the Streetcare supervisor/Assistant Manager.
- Fully participate in operational staff training and development programmes.
- Maintain good working relationships with the general public and deal with any minor queries or complaints, relaying any significant customer issues to the Assistant Group Manager for further action.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Possess a full HGV driving licence (up to 32 Tonnes).
- Chapter 8 qualification.
- Possess a recognised Water Jetting Association qualification.
- Hold valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC).
- Experience of driving HGV in residential areas.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Undertaking deliveries or providing services to residents.
- Working effectively to targets and timescales.
