Salary: £12.65 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week Mon - Fri 11:00am - 2:00pm
Working Weeks: 39.2 weeks per year plus holiday entitlement pro-rated over 12 months.
DBS: All school based roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check. In line with the statutory guidance within "Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023". DBS results will be considered and risk assessed in partnership with the relevant school safeguarding lead.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic School Meals Team, based at Limehurst Primary School. There’s never been a better time to join Totally Local Company and make a big difference to the staff and pupils, ensuring the school kitchen is ready to deliver during the lunch break. We’re looking for someone with a ‘can do, will do’ attitude to come and join us - no experience necessary - who will deliver high standards and be an ambassador for the TLC family in our community.
Duties & Responsibilities:- To assist with the preparation of food.
- To assist with serving meals and collecting used crockery and cutlery at the end of the lunch period.
- To assist with the daily preparation of the dining room and counter.
- To undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, including the washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.
- To store goods delivered.
- To assist with the preparation of buffets and working lunches.
- To undertake such other duties related to the work of the department, appropriate to the post, as may be assigned.
- The post-holder may have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of food for special functions, such as P.T.A. events, parties etc., as required.
- The post-holder will be allotted a time scale in which these duties must be performed.
- Basic food preparation and service of food.
- Working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 1.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures / systems.
- Knowledge of food safety management systems.
- Creativity and presentation skills.
Please note these are all desirable skills but are not essential.
