Are you looking for a new role? We have an exciting opportunity to join our established Street Care team working across the Borough.
Key Responsibilities
- The Street Care team maintain high quality horticultural features and achieve street cleansing standards and undertake general grounds maintenance duties.
- The team are responsible for keeping the streets of Stockport, including the Town Centre, clean and tidy.
- You can see the team mowing verges, emptying litter, removing surface water from gullys and so much more.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Street Cleansing: You’ll be sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, emptying litter bins, removing weeds, debris and refuse, cleaning road signs and litter bins. Where required you’ll remove graffiti and fly posting or other offensive material.
- Grounds: You’ll undertake general maintenance and operational duties in green & recreational areas including highway verges, landscaped areas, planted areas, council properties, sports facilities, cemeteries, schools and other public amenities, high profile lawn areas, fine turf and sports turf, horticultural features.
- General: You’ll undertake winter maintenance duties including manual gritting, filling and siting of grit bins and snow/ice clearance, as required. You’ll assist in the recycling of waste collected, wherever possible. At all times you’ll undertake duties in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with established safe systems of work, policies and procedures.
