What does TLC Recycling Refuse Team do? The team empty 14.5 million bins across the Borough of Stockport each year. They provide collections at various frequencies to over 126,000 properties including houses, schools and flats. They achieve a high recycling rate of around 60%, which puts Stockport in the top 10 authorities recycling rates in the Country.
What will you be doing in this role? You will be responsible for ensuring that your crew work safely at all times and we deliver a quality service to our residents. You will work your 37 hours Monday to Friday over either 4 days working a 9.25 hour shift and have a rolling rest day each week or 5 days working a 7.4 hour shift and there are plenty of opportunities for overtime. You'll help make Stockport clean and to minimise its impact on the environment primarily by driving the vehicles for recycling, garden, food and refuse collections. You'll complete the daily vehicle checks with the appropriate documentation, ensure any defects are reported and all accident damage reports are fully completed. We're a safety-first company - so this is really important to us. You'll follow work instructions to undertake waste collection duties ensuring customers receive a reliable, consistent effective service.
