As a Quantity Surveyor specialising in Electrical measured term contracts, you will take a leading role in the commercial delivery of maintenance contracts. You will be responsible for helping to oversee all aspects of cost management, valuations, and contractual compliance. You will work closely with our project manager, client, and subcontractors to ensure that works are delivered within budget and in line with contractual and technical requirements. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the commercial success and operational efficiency of our Electrical term service contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate accounts for Electrical maintenance projects, including pricing of schedule of PSA and/or NSR schedule of rates under MTC contracts.
- Take ownership of cost control and value engineering throughout project lifecycles.
- Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations, final accounts, and variation claims.
- Identify, price, and negotiate variations in accordance with the relevant contract.
- Deliver monthly cost/value reconciliations and financial progress reports.
- Ensure commercial and contractual compliance across all MTC contracts.
- Attend project meetings, site inspections, and liaise closely with delivery teams.
- Provide cost advice and support to project and operational teams at all stages.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients QS and stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and professionally regarding financial and contractual matters.
- Ensure client requirements and expectations are met within agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Essential: Previous Electrical background experience on MTC contracts.
- Essential: Minimum 3 years experience as a Quantity / Trainee Surveyor, with a strong focus on Electrical works.
- Proven track record of working on Measured Term Contracts (MTC), particularly within the education sector.
- Demonstrable experience with PSA schedule of rates and MTC pricing mechanisms.
- Desirable: Experience within a client-facing environment.
- Experience across public sector maintenance contracts.
- Essential: Knowledge of Electrical systems and terminology.
- Familiarity with NEC 4 standard forms of contract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Desirable: Working knowledge of contract administration and dispute resolution.
- Commercially driven with a keen eye for detail and value engineering opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities across different contracts.
- Effective communicator who builds rapport with teams and stakeholders.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel between sites and client premises as required within NI.
