Purpose of the Role: To carry out a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks across Totalis facilities, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, within deadlines, and in accordance with health and safety regulations. The role requires strong joinery skills alongside general maintenance capabilities across multiple trades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks across company sites.
  • Carry out joinery work, including fitting doors, skirting, architraves, locks, shelving, partitions, and other timber structures.
  • Perform general building maintenance such as minor plumbing, basic electrical work (e.g. changing fittings), plaster patching, tiling, and painting.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Assist in the installation, assembly, and repair of office and workshop fixtures, furniture, and fittings.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, to specification, and in compliance with company and statutory health & safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and report any defects, hazards, or potential maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time allocation.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required to support maintenance operations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing upkeep and presentation of Totalis facilities, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Time-served or NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Joinery or Carpentry.
  • Proven experience in general building maintenance or similar multi-skilled roles.
  • Good knowledge of other trades (basic plumbing, electrical, decorating, tiling, etc.).
  • Strong practical skills with an eye for detail and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety standards and safe working practices.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in commercial or industrial premises.
  • Knowledge of facilities management processes and maintenance scheduling.
  • Basic IT literacy (for maintenance reporting systems).
  • Valid CSR card or equivalent.
