Responsibilities
- Overall management of the Financial Controlling team responsible for preparing individual business unit and consolidated monthly management accounts, annual and five-year budgeting and ad-hoc reporting to Group.
- Preparing monthly reporting and overseeing key monthly reconciliations.
- Ensuring timely reporting of all deliverables to Head Office.
- Cost center monitoring, update, and allocation cycle updates on a regular basis to ensure accurate reporting.
- Developing and maintaining connections with Head Office support teams around management reporting.
- Maintaining the internal control framework and internal processes to manage risk, Accounting policy, and manual.
- Liaising with auditors/accountants to ensure compliance with accounting/reporting regulations.
- Work collaboratively with wider teams across the business to ensure fit for purpose MI reporting.
- Work across the business units to understand needs and design reporting for key stakeholders and promote uniformity of reporting.
- Responsible for development projects primarily in support of Financial Analysis and tools used within the Financial Controlling team.
- Development and maintaining of Priority Accounting Controls relating to Finance in conjunction with the Internal Auditor.
- Promoting tools and systems of work that provide support to General Managers regarding volumes, margins and delivery costs by way of monthly reports over varying timeframes including analysis of sales, margins and profitability by channel, customer and product and performance comparisons to budget.
- Promoting tools and systems of work that distribute cost center reports to budget holders showing comparison to budget per month and YTD, investigating discrepancies where required.
- Regular forecast, budget and monthly account preparation for submission to Head Office finance teams.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidate is educated to a degree level, has a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) and has a minimum of 5 years experience at a management level.
- Good knowledge of the downstream sector of the Oil and Gas market and sound commercial judgment is desirable.
- Good communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization are desirable.
- Candidate can ensure accurate and timely provision of management information from the Finance Team and supports the growth ambition of the business.
- Confidence and ability to make detailed presentations to personnel at all levels of the organization is key.
