We have an exciting opportunity for a Billing Performance Manager on an 18-month contract.

This role supports the delivery of over £6 billion in customer billing across 280,000+ sites. You’ll be directly influencing the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of the company’s end product—its invoices.

You’ll lead a team of 5 onshore and oversight of up to 40 offshore colleagues, giving you the chance to shape team culture, performance, and development across geographies.

You’ll be empowered to challenge the norm, using insight and data to drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and service delivery. Your ideas will directly feed into cost-benefit proposals and strategic decisions.

Working Pattern: 3 days a week in the office and 2 day at home

About the Office:

Based at the Kingswood Field office KT20 6RP (Tadworth), a 28-acre office campus site set in the Surrey countryside with Trail walks. You will enjoy a modern vibrant and friendly working environment. We have an onsite restaurant and café with a wide range of options available, and coffee shop. There is a state-of-the-art on-site onsite gym run by Nuffield, with classes on set days in the mornings, at lunch and after work hours.

We have a staff car park which includes electric charging points, an undercover and secure bike rack (useful if you’ve made the most of the Cycle-to-Work scheme), or if you will use public transport we have a private shuttle bus service that regularly runs between train station and the office at peak times.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Management of billing delivery and optimisation of the E2E billing processes to minimise unbilled and deliver accurate & timely invoicing. This includes managing the monthly billing cycle for the business to ensure batch capacity concerns are addressed/avoided and also all associated billing queries
  • Deliver core billing KPI’s such as unbilled, cancel and re-bill, speed of billing and query management
  • Direct responsibility for offshore billing resource. Establishing and maintaining working practices, processes & procedures, and monitor performance through KPIs and agreed quality assurance measures
  • Continually review available offshore and onshore resource and how to drive overall FTE benefits whilst improving the quality of the invoicing issued to our customers with a specific focus on billing exception management and oversight
  • Oversee the management of all Customer Service Gas & Power Marval requests and escalations. Ensure major risks are appropriately captured and resolved without impacting key business KPIs & commercial position
  • Ensure reoccurring/significant issues are identified and systems/process solutions being raised via the appropriate forum
  • Challenge the norm using insight from Billing and Marval MI in particular, to drive continual improvement approach to our systems, processes, and staff development. Deliver proposals for changes to processes & system including ‘Cost Benefit Analysis’ to line manager and Director, Customer Services
  • Manage departmental involvement in all business wide projects which impact systems and processes to ensure successful delivery
  • Oversee and drive migration of all Customer Service reporting into snowflake / Power BI. Ensure wider departmental reporting requirements are also captured driving efficiency and effectiveness into BAU activities via automation and enhancement
  • Work closely with line manager and peers in developing short- and long-term strategies to make TGP Service ‘Best in Class’ driving improvement in customer KPIs
  • Scrutinise wider business processes and their impact on the customer services space. Identify pain points and liaise with the relevant departments to improve

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a business expert in processes, systems and customer expectations
