Experienced Business Development Manager required to secure and deliver high-value Total Waste Management contracts across the production, distribution, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary + commission, company car or car allowance, pension. Typical OTE: £45,000 – £50,000.

Location: South East based with nationwide travel as required.

The Role: We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to generate new business opportunities and grow revenue through the promotion of integrated waste management solutions. You will be responsible for developing and converting your own sales pipeline, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract close. Working closely with Operations, you will ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new clients and maintain high service standards throughout the transition process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across targeted sectors.
  • Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations, and tender submissions.
  • Manage the full sales process through to contract negotiation and close.
  • Secure long-term, sustainable business relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and forecasting through the company CRM system.
  • Respond promptly to enquiries and follow up on all proposals and quotations.
  • Support marketing campaigns and business development initiatives.
  • Network proactively within key industry sectors and target markets.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, and buyer events.

Client Onboarding & Internal Collaboration:

  • Communicate customer requirements clearly and efficiently to internal teams.
  • Act as the key liaison between clients and Operations until services are fully implemented.
  • Support a smooth handover to the Account Management team.
  • Represent the business professionally at all times, reflecting company values and culture.

Experience Required:

You will have a proven track record in winning medium to large-value service contracts within the Waste Management, Recycling, or Facilities Management sectors. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with the flexibility to travel nationally as required.
