An experienced Waste & Recycling Operations Manager is required to lead a production team at a fast-paced processing site.
Salary: £60k + benefits, Pension
Location: Horwich, Blackrod Preston and surrounding areas
The Role
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy waste management or recycling facility.
- Oversee the intake, processing, and dispatch of waste materials.
- Ensure all plant and equipment are properly maintained and operational.
- Maintain compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality standards.
- Manage, motivate, and develop a team of production staff.
- Support commercial activities and contribute to overall business performance.
About You
- A relevant qualification such as COTC/WAMITAB.
- Proven experience managing a waste processing or recycling site although not essential.
- A background working with materials such as wood waste, scrap metal, plastics, construction/demolition waste, composting, landfill, aggregates, anaerobic digestion, MRF/MBT operations, or other heavy industry.
- Desirable: NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
- A full UK driving license.
