EXPERIENCED HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER, OR SHEQ / HSEQ / QHSE / HSE COMPLIANCE MANAGER WITH STRONG HEALTH AND SAFETY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR MULTISITE OPERATION IN THE WASTE MANAGEMENT & RECYCLING SECTOR.
SALARY: Circa £48-57,000 DOE, plus Car Allowance or Car & Fuel Card.
BENEFITS: 25 days + B/H rising with service, Life Assurance, Enhanced Pension.
FLEXIBLE HOURS: 40 hrs worked between 6am and 6pm Mon to Fri.
LOCATION: Sites across Yorkshire, Good A1 access ideal.
YOU WILL HAVE BEEN AN: Health & Safety Manager, HSE Manager, SHEQ Manager, HSEQ Manager, QHSE Manager, Compliance Manager, SHE Manager.
YOU WILL HAVE WORKED IN A SECTOR WITH MECHANICAL MATERIAL PROCESSING SUCH AS: Waste Management, Recycling, Aggregates, Quarry, Landfill, Anaerobic Digestion, In-Vessel Composting, Skip Hire etc.
ROLE: You oversee Health, Safety and Environmental performance across all sites, continuously monitoring operations, identifying improvements, and ensuring compliance with legislation and ISO standards. You conduct audits, lead safety culture initiatives, analyse incident and performance data, and support Site Managers in strengthening HSE systems. You manage calibrations, documentation, PPE budgets, and reporting, while training teams, addressing non-conformances, and driving behavioural change. You chair HSE meetings, support investigations, handle EA audits, and collaborate across regions to resolve issues and maintain high operational standards.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in a similar role. NEBOSH General Certificate or Higher. Affiliation such as TechIOSH, CertIOSH etc would be ideal. Other useful qualifications: WAMITAB / COTC, IEMA, NEBOSH Environmental. ISO working knowledge.
