We are currently recruiting for a Site Chemist to join a busy waste management and environmental services operation. This role is ideal for someone with a chemistry or environmental background looking to develop their career in hazardous waste management and compliance.

Location: Beccles, Norfolk. Relocators welcome

Salary: £28-32K Graduate, £37-40K for Hazardous Waste Sector Experience

Hours: Full time 8am - 5pm, Mon-Fri

Ideally you will have experience in the hazardous waste industry as a:

  • Reception Chemist
  • Site Chemist
  • Technical Assessor
  • Chempac or Hazpak Chemist
  • Mobile Chemist

As a Site Chemist, you will support site operations by assessing, classifying and managing incoming and outgoing waste streams while ensuring regulatory compliance. This is a 75% outdoors role in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, label and record containerised waste inventory
  • Carry out hazardous waste assessments and pre-acceptance checks
  • Generate hazardous waste documentation and consignment notes
  • Conduct waste sampling and classification
  • Monitor waste compliance data and reporting
  • Support site operations, waste scheduling and job bookings
  • Weigh vehicles in and out of site and ensure paperwork compliance
  • Liaise with customers and third-party waste disposal outlets

You will have an HNC Chemistry minimum ideally a degree. Degrees with Chemistry directly in the title (e.g. Biochemistry) or those that contain 4 modules that have Chemistry in the title such as Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry etc. will be considered if a module list can be provided.

You will have a UK Driving licence. Knowledge of hazardous waste or environmental regulations (preferred). Strong organisational and record-keeping skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
