EXPERIENCED GENERAL OPERATIONS MANAGER REQUIRED WITH A BACKGROUND IN WASTE PROCESSING OPERATIONS TO OVERSEE OPERATIONS AT A HIGH THROUGHPUT RECYCLING PLANT.
SALARY: Negotiable £60-80,000, single site role no vehicle provision.
BENEFITS: 7% Pension, Life Insurance, Health Plan, 25 days B/H (rising with service).
LOCATION: You will be commutable to the Grays / Tilbury area (within 1 hr on google maps).
CORE HOURS: Some flexibility (around business requirements) 40hrs worked between 6am & 6pm.
ROLE: You will be responsible for a waste processing plant and will develop relationships between departments to deliver the best possible plant performance, working with the national production and engineering heads and senior plant team to deliver optimisation. You will deliver production KPIs and keep downtime to a minimum. You will deliver an engaged and effective workforce, and manage through any change required with the teams. You will ensure the operation is compliant utilising the businesses HSE function. You will also drive quality in the process material.
EXPERIENCE: You will have 3 years experience in waste processing operations. You will currently be the senior person on site and oversee production and engineering either directly or via production and engineering managers. If you are an area or regional manager you will need to demonstrate previous experience of this. You will have strong man management skills. You will have full P&L responsibility for the operation. Ideally you will have a COTC / WAMITAB, NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent). Any lean experience such as six sigma, kaizen, 5S, 5 whys, root cause analysis a plus.
YOU WILL HAVE WORKED IN THE WASTE OR QUARRYING SECTORS AS A: Operations Manager, Site Manager, MRF Manager, MBT Manager, General Manager, Recycling Manager, Plant Manager, Regional Manager, Area Manager.
YOU MAY HAVE WORKED IN: Biomass, Wood Recycling, Scrap Metal, Construction Waste, Demolition Waste, Aggregates Recycling, Quarrying, Glass Recycling, Plastics Recycling, MRF, MBT, Metal Recycling, Mechanical Biological Treatment, Materials Recovery Facility.
