Job Description:
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Steel Welder/Fabricator to join our team working on commercial vehicle bodies and fuel tank fabrication. The role involves welding, assembling, and fabricating a range of steel components for bespoke vehicle body builds and associated equipment to a high standard of quality and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, preparing and fabricating materials, carrying out MIG/TIG welding, and ensuring all work is completed accurately and efficiently. You will work on a variety of commercial body builds. Applicants should have previous experience in steel welding and fabrication, ideally within commercial vehicles, heavy fabrication, or fuel tank manufacturing. A good understanding of workshop safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and welding of steel fuel tanks and commercial vehicle bodies
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Using welding and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Assisting with assembly and fitting of fabricated components
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Skills & Experience:
- Previous MIG/TIG welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to work from engineering drawings
- Experience with commercial vehicle body building or fuel tanks desirable
- Good attention to detail and workmanship
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
