Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to help drive manufacturing excellence, improve product quality and support our commitment to delivering industry-leading products to our customers.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring our products consistently meet customer, company and regulatory quality standards while driving continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing and maintaining quality control plans, inspection standards and testing procedures.
- Monitoring product quality throughout fabrication, painting, assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Investigating customer complaints, warranty claims and internal quality concerns using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Conducting root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams and Pareto Analysis.
- Leading corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verifying their effectiveness.
- Carrying out process, product and layered process audits.
- Supporting compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and customer quality requirements.
- Supporting APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and MSA activities.
- Analysing quality data to identify trends and opportunities to reduce defects, scrap and rework.
- Working closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Supplier Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Supporting supplier quality improvement initiatives.
- Driving Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
- Supporting internal, customer and third-party audits.
- Delivering quality awareness training to production teams.
About You
You will ideally have
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years' experience in a Quality Engineering role within automotive, commercial vehicle or industrial manufacturing.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and Control Plans.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ideally IATF 16949.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- A good understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, painting and vehicle assembly processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
