They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of clean water and wastewater capital schemes. This role will suit a technically strong engineer with proven water-sector experience who can provide leadership across design development, construction support, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver mechanical engineering elements of clean water and wastewater capital schemes
- Provide technical input and design development through the design stages to construction and commissioning
- Produce and review mechanical designs, specifications, schedules, and technical reports
- Support buildability reviews, risk reduction, and value engineering exercises
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and client stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and health & safety requirements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers where required
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Significant experience working in the UK water sector (clean water and/or wastewater)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems within water treatment and infrastructure projects
- Experience delivering capital projects within regulated environments (AMP experience favourable)
- Ability to lead technically and engage confidently with stakeholders
- Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (desirable)
