As a Principal Decommissioning & Dismantling Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering complex decommissioning projects. You will oversee all phases of decommissioning activities, including planning, design, execution, and monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Your expertise will contribute to the development of innovative and safe decommissioning solutions, promoting sustainability and minimisation of waste. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and be the main point of contact with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. This position offers the opportunity to significantly influence project outcomes and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead decommissioning project planning and execution activities.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Nuclear Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in nuclear decommissioning projects or waste management.
  • Extensive knowledge of nuclear regulations and decommissioning best practices.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional registration (e.g., CEng, IEng) or equivalent.
  • Experience with site investigations and characterisations.
  • Familiarity with safety assessments and regulatory compliance.
