Our client is looking to add within the Engineering team a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will integrate operational engineering multi-disciplines teams delivering projects at various phases, from FEED to commissioning, or in assistance to Plant Operation in the UK and to be based in the North West.
Requirements
- The assignments will be on projects: Supporting/delivering and organising technical studies/projects.
- Supporting the design of mechanical processes, from strategic and conceptual phases to detailed design and construction & commissioning phase support.
- Typical supporting deliverables that will be issued: technical note, substantiation notes, mechanical flow diagrams and flow-sheets, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical layout drawings, hazards and malfunctions management, technical specification documentation review from supply chain.
- Technical studies related to mechanical handling for both handling operations and heavy mechanical transfer systems, powder mechanical processes (transport, milling, and compaction) in high active environment and gloveboxes, compaction and mechanical dismantling technologies.
About you
- We are looking for candidates with the following:
- 2+ Years’ experience as a Graduate/Assistant Mechanical Engineer
- Experience of engineering design (development, FEED, detailed design, technical specification, documentation review from supply chain) in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors
- Experience of mechanical studies delivery (Mechanical handling, powder technologies) considering manufacture, testing, construction commissioning, operation, maintenance recovery and decommissioning aspects
- Experience of contractor follow-up in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors
- Experience of delivering projects for Sellafield, AWE, UKAEA, UKNNL or Magnox sites (desirable)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant degree
- Associate member of relevant professional body (IMechE) working towards chartership
- Hold a minimum of ‘SC’ UK Security Clearance
- Previous experience in a Nuclear Site or other highly regulated site
