Total Recruitment Group seek a dedicated Cask Handler to join our clients dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of the casks, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. This role requires a combination of physical fitness, manual handling techniques and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload casks from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling practices are followed.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as required for moving heavy items.
- Build pallets and prepare shipments for dispatch according to company guidelines.
- Engage in materials handling tasks, including sorting, stacking, and storing products in designated areas.
- Maintain an organised and clean work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems will be considered a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy moving techniques as required by the role, with a focus on safety.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining inventory accuracy.
- A proactive attitude towards teamwork and communication is necessary for success in this position.
Please note this role is a temporary ongoing role expected to last until the end of the year. We are looking for a start within the next 1-2 weeks. Operating window for hours will be between 7.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 7.30am - 11.30am Friday, 37 hour working week within this time frame. Please note that a training rate of £13 will be paid for the first 4-6 weeks, after training the rate will revert to £19 per hour.
