They are now looking for a proactive Associate/Principal Civil Engineer to support the delivery of major water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects. You will play a central role in shaping project outcomes and driving design quality across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the delivery of civil engineering design solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage and coordinate the production of civil engineering deliverables, including site layouts, earthworks designs, drainage strategies, hydraulic structures, pipelines, reinforced concrete structures, and associated infrastructure.
- Assist with MCC and control panel sizing and selection activities.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians, including mentoring, coaching, and supporting professional development.
- Undertake and review engineering calculations, design reports, specifications, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
- Act as a technical authority, ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, legislation, client requirements, and health & safety obligations.
- Lead design reviews, value engineering exercises, and constructability assessments to deliver efficient and innovative solutions.
- Manage interfaces with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other project stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of project proposals, fee estimates, programmes, and resource plans.
- Provide construction-phase support, including site inspections, technical queries, design modifications, and stakeholder liaison.
- Contribute to business development activities, client relationship management, and the identification of new opportunities.
- Support and contribute to the strategic growth and technical development of civil engineering capability.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards chartership with a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE).
- Significant experience in the design and delivery of civil engineering projects within the water, utilities, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering design principles, including experience with infrastructure, pipelines, drainage, earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, and hydraulic structures.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage the delivery of complex engineering projects.
- Sound understanding of relevant industry standards, legislation, CDM Regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Experience in the preparation and review of technical reports, specifications, calculations, tender documentation, and construction support activities.
- Strong project management and commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, programmes, resources, and project risks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and innovative engineering solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, regulators, and internal teams.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to site travel requirements).
