Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cask Handler to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of the casks, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. This role requires a combination of physical strength, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
Responsibilities
Load and unload materials from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling practices are followed.
Operate forklifts and other machinery as required for moving heavy items.
Build pallets and prepare shipments for dispatch according to company guidelines.
Engage in materials handling tasks, including sorting, stacking, and storing products in designated areas.
Maintain an organised and clean work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills and experience
Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems will be considered a plus.
Ability to perform heavy moving techniques as required by the role, with a focus on safety.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining inventory accuracy.
A proactive attitude towards teamwork and communication is necessary for success in this position.
Please note this role is a temporary week to week contract which is expected to last until Christmas. We are looking for starts within the next 1-2 weeks.
Operating window for hours will be between, 7.30am β 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 7.30am β 11.30am Friday, 37 hour working week within this time frame.
Please note that a training rate of Β£13 will be paid for the first 4-6 weeks, after training the rate will revert to Β£19 per hour.
