TMS Global, part of DS Smith, is a global leader in sustainable packaging and retail solutions. Operating in 97 markets with a team of 300+ across APAC, LATAM, EMEA and North America, we partner with leading global brands to deliver innovative print, packaging, and display solutions. TMS is in a period of deliberate, ambitious transformation. We are building the systems, capabilities, and disciplines that will underpin our growth ambitions – and our Change & Delivery Leads are central to that effort.
This is a blended delivery and change role for someone who thinks in outcomes, not activities. You will set up and drive project delivery on key strategic initiatives, build the commercial and analytical rigour needed to make the business case for change, define success in terms of measurable targets, and then own the work of making that change land. The role sits within our Delivery function and operates across the full change lifecycle – from diagnostic and business case through to execution, embedding, and benefit realisation. It is not a pure project coordinator role, nor a traditional change management consultancy role: it requires both the commercial sharpness to define what we are trying to achieve and the delivery discipline to make it happen. This role can be based remotely throughout the UK or can be hybrid to our office in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Set up and maintain the delivery infrastructure for assigned projects and workstreams: governance, RACI, reporting cadence, risk and issue management, and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Drive projects from initiation through to handover and benefit realisation.
- Maintain accurate, exception-led status reporting to the Head of Delivery.
- Ensure project documentation is maintained to the standard required.
- Lead the development of business cases for assigned change initiatives, working with Finance, account owners, and functional leads.
- Translate strategic intent into measurable outcomes.
- Contribute to the commercial case for the Delivery function itself, supporting the articulation of value delivered through improved governance and change capability.
- Design and deliver stakeholder engagement and communication plans for change projects.
- Conduct current-state diagnostics and gap analyses to inform change strategy.
- Ensure changes are embedded and sustained post-go-live, with clear ownership transferred to operational teams and lessons captured for future programmes.
- Support the ongoing development and embedment of the Delivery Framework, including project lifecycle tools, templates, and governance processes.
- Identify waste and inefficiency in operational and delivery processes, applying lean and continuous improvement principles to surface opportunities for simplification.
- Build effective working relationships across DSGS functions and regions, operating with influence rather than authority in a matrixed environment.
About You
This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, matrix environment and enjoys collaborating across teams and geographies. You will be commercially literate with a structured approach who can organise complex information easily. You will also be a credible communicator who is stakeholder savvy.
To be successful, you will have:
- Demonstrable experience delivering business change or transformation projects end-to-end, with evidence of projects delivered on time, to scope, and with measurable outcomes.
- Proven ability to build and present business cases.
- Experience defining targets and success metrics for change programmes.
- A background in a managed services, professional services, or complex multi-stakeholder environment is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, and Excel is essential, while experience with project tracking or workflow tools would be advantageous.
