Location: Basildon, Essex

Hours: Part-time / Flexible (not full-time)

Due to the upcoming retirement of our long-standing part-time estimator, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our small–medium sized carpentry and joinery company based in Basildon. We predominantly work with main contractors, delivering a wide range of carpentry and bespoke joinery projects.

What we do:

  • Windows and doors.
  • Bespoke desks.
  • Labour-only carpentry packages.
  • Bespoke architectural joinery.
  • Bespoke cabinetry.
  • Complete joinery fit-out packages.

Our project values vary considerably, ranging from small works around £1,000 to larger projects up to £400,000.

The role will include:

  • Pricing and estimating a wide range of carpentry and joinery projects.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Attending site visits and carrying out measurements when required.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Producing basic workshop sketches where necessary.
  • Supporting the business during the pre-construction process.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have proven experience estimating carpentry and/or joinery works.
  • Be organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware.
  • Be confident communicating with clients and contractors.
  • Be comfortable working independently.
  • Have a good practical understanding of joinery and construction methods.
