Hours: Part-time / Flexible (not full-time)
Due to the upcoming retirement of our long-standing part-time estimator, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our small–medium sized carpentry and joinery company based in Basildon. We predominantly work with main contractors, delivering a wide range of carpentry and bespoke joinery projects.
What we do:
- Windows and doors
- Bespoke desks
- Labour-only carpentry packages
- Bespoke architectural joinery
- Bespoke cabinetry
- Complete joinery fit-out packages
Our project values vary considerably, ranging from small works around £1,000 to larger projects up to £400,000.
The role will include:
- Pricing and estimating a wide range of carpentry and joinery projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Attending site visits and carrying out measurements when required
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Producing basic workshop sketches where necessary
- Supporting the business during the pre-construction process
The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven experience estimating carpentry and/or joinery works
- Be organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware
- Be confident communicating with clients and contractors
- Be comfortable working independently
- Have a good practical understanding of joinery and construction methods
