The PR and Content Manager is responsible for shaping, protecting, and amplifying the Total Fitness brand through organic, earned, and third party channels. This role will own the end-to-end PR strategy, content creation, and organic social presence, using storytelling and trusted external voices to build brand credibility, relevance, and engagement. Working closely within internal teams and external agencies, this role ensures consistent, high impact content and communications that support business objectives, strengthen reputation, and drive meaningful audience connections. Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the Total Fitness PR strategy, including proactive, reactive, and crisis communications.
- Lead earned media activity and manage all associated corporate PR campaigns.
- Brief, coordinate, and manage the PR agency to ensure aligned, high quality output.
- Support senior leaders with media messaging, briefing and reactive communications where required.
- Lead content ideation and creation across key organic channels.
- Ensure content is insight‑led, on brand, and aligned to wider brand and commercial strategies.
- Develop storytelling frameworks that bring brand positioning and campaigns to life.
- Manage cross‑channel content promotion to ensure consistent messaging and maximum reach.
- Own the organic social media strategy and channels, overseeing planning, publishing, and performance.
- Work closely with the E‑Commerce team to promote paid social activity and commercial priorities.
- Build our brand reputation by association and position Total Fitness as a thought leader and expert.
- Develop and manage influencer and partnership relationships that enhance brand visibility.
- Ensure collaborations reflect brand values and deliver measurable commercial impact.
- Manage and coordinate agency relationships to support delivery and execution.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Brand, Ecommerce, and Club teams to ensure aligned communications.
- Track, evaluate and report on PR, content and organic performance using agreed KPIs and insights.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in PR or content roles, with minimum 5 years’ experience in PR and reputation management.
- Experience managing agencies, partners, or external suppliers.
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
- Strong understanding of organic channels (including social media, and partnerships) and brand storytelling.
- Comfortable using insight and performance data to evaluate activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise and influence internal teams and senior leaders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
- Influencer, partnership, or sponsorship management experience.
- Experience handling sensitive or reactive communications, including crisis or reputation management support.
- Social media management and performance analysis experience.
