Electrical Maintenance engineer - Northampton An electrically biased tradesperson is required to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and building fabric systems.
The role is based at Northampton - Milton Malsor, with occasional support required for nearby sites as operational needs arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Manager
- Fault‑find, test, repair and perform preventative maintenance on electrical building services equipment
- Undertake various non‑specialist building fabric maintenance tasks
- Close and update completed PPM tasks on the site’s computerised maintenance system
- Maintain engineering standards to maximise plant performance and reliability
- Adhere to all company quality assurance and site procedures
- Follow site and company Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Maintain accurate site documentation for all works
- Inspect service conditions and proactively address call‑outs and repairs as required
- Perform tasks within plant rooms and at high level using access equipment
- Ensure all issued tools are kept safe, serviceable and well‑maintained
- Positively support the contract and contribute to successful service delivery
- Complete additional tasks requested by management, including occasional security‑related assistance Required Skills and Experience
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition IEE
- Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent training
- Demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering
- Strong customer service approach
- Smart, presentable appearance
- Logical thinker with strong fault‑finding ability
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively within a team
- Self‑motivated and capable of working unsupervised
- Able to self‑generate reactive tasks where appropriate
