Job Introduction: TF Recruitment is working in partnership with a reputable client to recruit a skilled and committed Air Conditioning Service Engineer into a permanent position within a technically demanding environment. This role offers long-term stability, variety of work, and the opportunity to operate within essential public-sector facilities, supporting critical services across London.
Role Overview: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Air Conditioning Service Engineer to utilise their technical expertise across reactive fault diagnostics, servicing, commissioning, and installation works. The role covers a mix of mobile and fixed sites and offers exposure to a wide range of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building services systems. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance, safety, and operational performance while working in a professional, well-structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive fault finding and repairs on air conditioning and HVAC systems
- Complete commissioning and servicing of HVAC equipment, chillers, AHUs, DX systems, and associated plant
- Maintain and update F-Gas registers across London Fire Brigade sites
- Compile technical reports and performance documentation in line with quality procedures
- Work closely with contract teams to ensure client and stakeholder satisfaction
- Produce technical and reject reports for failed components or plant
- Take full responsibility for health & safety, following method statements and risk assessments
- Support service, maintenance, and warranty works where required
- Assist with general maintenance across Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Fabric disciplines
- Identify lifecycle replacement requirements and report accordingly
- Complete all associated paperwork, worksheets, and compliance documentation accurately
Operational & Administrative Duties:
- Accurately complete and submit weekly timesheets
- Submit weekly expenses with all supporting documentation
- Ensure customer paperwork is completed on site, including signatures
- Fully complete engineer worksheets highlighting additional works required
- Complete Minor Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates as applicable
Essential Skills & Experience:
- F-Gas qualified (fully qualified on all units)
- Strong experience with Air Handling Units, including DX systems
- L8 Awareness
- IPAF
- PASMA
- Proven background in field-based service and fault-finding
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Building Management Systems
- HVAC and Building Services engineering experience
- Emergency Lighting Fundamentals (Units 1 & 2)
- Generator load testing experience
- Additional plumbing or mechanical qualifications
- City & Guilds 2360 / 2330 Electrical Installation & Maintenance or equivalent
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
