Location: Dartford
We are seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to be based on site, responsible for undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and building fabric systems. The role is primarily site‑based, with flexibility required to support nearby local sites as operational needs dictate. This position suits a proactive engineer with strong fault‑finding skills, a professional approach, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance as directed by site management
- Fault finding, testing, repair, and preventative maintenance of electrical building services equipment
- Provide electrical support to the wider engineering team
- Undertake non‑specialist building fabric maintenance tasks as required
- Close and update completed PPM tasks on the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Ensure engineering standards are maintained to maximise plant reliability and operational effectiveness
- Adhere to all company QA procedures and site‑specific processes
- Comply fully with all Company and Site Health & Safety policies at all times
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation for all works completed
- Inspect the condition of services and proactively address repairs and call‑outs
- Work safely within plant room environments and at height using platforms and ladders
- Maintain company‑issued tools in a safe and serviceable condition
- Proactively support the ongoing success of the contract with a positive, professional attitude
- Undertake any other reasonable task requested by management, which may include assisting with security‑related duties when required
Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition IEE Regulations
- Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent electrical training
- Demonstrable knowledge of building services engineering
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic capability
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Smart, professional, and presentable
- Logical and methodical approach to fault resolution
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage reactive workloads
- Flexible and adaptable in response to changing site requirements
Desirable:
- IPAF and/or PASMA
- Experience using CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- HVAC and wider building services engineering experience
