Role Overview

Refrigeration/Chiller Engineer

Location: Mobile London

Pay: £50,000.00 per year

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday | 08:00 - 17:00

This role is suited to an experienced Air Conditioning Service Engineer who will utilise core technical skills to deliver reactive fault diagnostics, servicing, commissioning, and installation works associated with HVAC systems. The position requires flexibility to work across a variety of sites and customer environments, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, technical quality, and customer satisfaction. The role also includes an element of service, maintenance, and warranty support alongside commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive fault diagnostics and installation works related to air conditioning and HVAC systems
  • Complete full commissioning and servicing of HVAC equipment, chillers, AHUs, and associated plant
  • Assist with warranty repair activities as required
  • Compile site reports and information sheets in line with the company's quality management system
  • Work in cooperation with contract teams to ensure employer and client acceptance in line with contractual terms
  • Produce non-commissioning documentation as required, including technical reports and reject reports for failed plant or components
  • Maintain full responsibility for personal health & safety, adhering to method statements and risk assessments on all sites
  • Liaise with Contract Managers and contract support teams regarding materials, consumables, and site logistics
  • Support service, maintenance, and warranty works should commissioning workload become sporadic
  • Promote after-sales service and maintenance offerings
  • Report site issues that may affect programme delivery or customer satisfaction
  • Work flexibly across multiple sites and customer locations
  • Participate in a regular on-call rota to attend emergency call-outs outside of normal working hours
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties in support of company objectives

Operational & Administrative Duties

  • Complete weekly timesheets accurately and submit to line management on time
  • Submit weekly expense claims with all supporting receipts
  • Complete customer paperwork on site and obtain signatures to avoid invoicing delays
  • Fully complete engineer worksheets, detailing any plant requiring additional works
  • Complete Minor Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates where applicable
  • Contact line management or office administration at the end of each job to provide updates
  • Contact the helpdesk at the end of the working day in accordance with lone-working procedures

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points, no pending cases)
  • Minimum 2 years' field-based service and fault-finding experience

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • IPAF PASMA
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Building Management Systems
  • HVAC and Building Services engineering background
  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or equivalent

Technical Knowledge

  • F-Gas regulations (City & Guilds)
  • NVQ / City & Guilds in Air Conditioning and/or Refrigeration
  • Manufacturer training and equipment knowledge
