The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of industrial projects, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design packages from concept through to construction. You will play a key role in translating engineering concepts into practical, implementable solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. This position is particularly suited to candidates with a background as an industrial electrician or those with hands-on electrical maintenance experience within industrial environments who are looking to transition into a primarily office-based design-focused role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and interpret technical information through client documentation, meetings, and site surveys
  • Support project delivery by engaging in scheduling, resource coordination, and general project activities
  • Develop and organise technical data for inclusion in design specifications and documentation
  • Produce and prepare electrical designs for internal and client review
  • Apply industry best practice, statutory regulations, and company standards to all design work
  • Contribute to the development and revision of electrical single-line diagrams and schematic drawings
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams

Requirements

Essential

  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in process, manufacturing, or facilities environments
  • Practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems
  • Full UK/ROI driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK and Ireland

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
  • Experience within an engineering design or project environment
  • Familiarity with electrical design principles and methodologies, including: CAD design and drafting, Cable sizing calculations, Electrical schematic design, Industrial communication protocols, Site surveying and assessment of existing installations.

Working Hours
This is a full-time, office-based position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Work authorisation: United Kingdom (required)
Work Location: In person
