What You'll Do

This role offers valuable hands‑on experience in a professional dental environment while working towards the Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship Standard. You will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in dental nursing, supported by experienced colleagues and industry‑leading training.

This opportunity requires flexibility and the ability to travel between our client, Total Dental Care's, sister practices. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a variety of shifts across the following locations:

  • LE2 6TD
  • LE3 9PW
  • LE5 4EL
  • LE5 1DR

The successful candidate will gain experience across different dental practices, providing an excellent opportunity to broaden their skills and knowledge while building a rewarding career in dental nursing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing chairside support to the dentist during a range of dental procedures
  • Ensuring the care, comfort, and wellbeing of patients at all times
  • Preparing and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment
  • Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments in accordance with practice protocols
  • Mixing and preparing dental materials as required
  • Recording treatments and updating patient records using dental software
  • Following strict cross‑infection control and health and safety procedures
  • Assisting with the development and processing of digital radiographs (x‑rays)
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels within the surgery
  • Supporting reception duties, including answering calls and administrative tasks
  • Working as part of a professional dental team to deliver excellent patient care

Training Outcome

Upon successful completion of the Dental Nursing Apprenticeship, there are excellent opportunities for career progression within the dental industry. With further experience, training, and development, you may choose to pursue a range of career pathways, including roles such as Dental Hygienist, Practice Manager, and many other professional opportunities within the sector.
