A well-established groundworks and civil engineering contractor based near Canterbury is looking to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to support operations across Kent and the South East. This is a key role within the business, ensuring safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible delivery across multiple sites. You will work closely with site teams, supervisors, and senior management to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.

The Role

  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks across active groundworks projects
  • Support site teams with RAMS, incident investigations, and corrective actions
  • Maintain and update H&S and environmental documentation
  • Monitor performance using SmartWaste or similar environmental reporting platforms
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the business
  • Liaise with clients, external auditors, and regulatory bodies where required

Requirements

  • NEBOSH qualification (essential)
  • Experience within groundworks, civils, or construction
  • Familiarity with SmartWaste or equivalent systems
  • Strong understanding of CDM, environmental compliance, and best practice
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach
