Portsmouth area | Major Infrastructure | Long-term programme

We are working with a well-established civil engineering subcontractor delivering the earthworks scope on a high-value infrastructure scheme in the Portsmouth area. With a strong track record on complex highways and civils projects, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead delivery on site.

The Role

  • Oversee planning, delivery, and commercial control of earthworks packages
  • Manage subcontractor teams and ensure compliance with RAMS, ITPs, and QA procedures
  • Lead programme development and short-term look-aheads (MS Project / P6)
  • Handle change control, forecasting, and NEC contract administration
  • Liaise with the wider delivery team to resolve technical and logistical issues
  • Drive health & safety standards through toolbox talks and site audits

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a subcontractor environment
  • Strong understanding of earthworks, civils, and commercial delivery pressures
  • Confident with programming, reporting, and stakeholder coordination
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and full UK driving licence required
