We are actively recruiting for Traffic Marshall in Derby, with a CPCS Traffic Marshal A73 license and NHSS Sector 12 (TTMBC). These qualifications are vital for this role – please do not apply if you do not have CPCS Traffic Marshal A73 AND NHSS Sector 12. This position will support a client project. You will mainly be required to work Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 17:30. Flexibility is required, as occasional work outside these hours may be needed depending on client needs. Immediate start required. Hourly pay rate is £17.50.
Duties
- Traffic and Vehicle Management
- Directing the safe movement of construction traffic, including HGVs, plant, and delivery vehicles
- Managing vehicle entry and exit to prevent congestion and incidents
- Supporting reversing operations and high-risk vehicle movements
- Site Safety
- Identifying hazards and changing site conditions
- Conducting and recording daily risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with site traffic management plans and health and safety procedures
- Security and Access Control
- Managing access gates and perimeter security
- Logging visitors, vehicles, and deliveries
- Conducting safety and security briefings for visitors and drivers
- Communication
- Using hand signals, radios, and clear verbal communication to coordinate movements
- Liaising with site management, drivers, and operational teams
- Delivery and Logistics Coordination
- Recording and coordinating deliveries
- Managing holding areas and site logistics to reduce congestion
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintaining accurate records of incidents, inspections, and compliance checks
Requirements
- CPCS Traffic Marshal A73
- NHSS Sector 12 (TTMBC)
- Proven operational experience on construction or infrastructure projects
- Excellent spoken and written English
- High level of situational and visual awareness
- Sound understanding of construction site safety and traffic management
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to remain alert for extended periods
- Confident, professional, and presentable in a front-of-house environment
