An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic, trauma-informed children's residential home supporting young children in a structured, nurturing environment. This role is ideal for a strong, values-led leader passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care and driving positive outcomes within residential services.

The Role

  • Lead and manage a residential children's home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding
  • Provide strong, compassionate leadership to a multidisciplinary staff team
  • Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations (NI) 2005, Minimum Standards (2023) and NISCC Codes of Practice
  • Maintain a safe, trauma-informed and therapeutic environment
  • Work closely with Social Workers, Trusts, families and external professionals
  • Oversee care planning, staff supervision, and reflective practice
  • Manage rotas, budgets, reporting systems and regulatory documentation
  • Lead on inspections, quality assurance and continuous improvement
  • Represent the service at LAC reviews and professional meetings

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Social Work
  • Current NISCC registration
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in residential childcare or similar setting
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership/management role

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, safeguarding and behaviour support
  • Experience leading teams and supervising staff
  • Knowledge of inspection frameworks, compliance and risk management
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of TCI or similar behaviour management frameworks
