A well-established construction and fit-out contractor based in County Down is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team. The business delivers a wide range of high-quality projects across residential, commercial, healthcare, and refurbishment sectors throughout Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and financial delivery of multiple construction projects
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
- Oversee subcontractor procurement and tendering processes
- Assess subcontractor quotations and negotiate terms and conditions
- Prepare interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs, profitability, and commercial performance
- Provide cost advice, forecasting, and risk analysis to operational teams
- Work closely with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Produce regular commercial reports for senior management
Essential Criteria
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction
- Previous experience working on medium-to-large construction projects
- Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
Desirable Criteria
- Chartered status (MRICS) or currently working towards chartership
- Experience working with a main contractor environment
