A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Ventilation Ductwork Estimator to join its growing pre-construction team in Northern Ireland. This role will involve preparing accurate and competitive tenders for ventilation and ductwork packages across a range of projects. It offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical background or estimating experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative team.
The Role:
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Measure and quantify works from drawings or BoQs
- Prepare priced tenders including labour and materials
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Identify commercial and technical risks within tender enquiries
- Assist in preparing tender submissions and documentation
- Work closely with the pre-construction team to meet submission deadlines
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in estimating within mechanical / HVAC / ductwork projects OR a strong mechanical background
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Mechanical apprenticeship or engineering qualification (HNC/ONC)
- Previous estimating experience within construction or M&E
